Blyth Pier Wed 1st November

just fished blyth pier with me mate ian.both had a few cod,ian had the biggest around 3lb smallest 1lb.also had a couple of under size coleys and a whiting.a lad on the end had 5 cod,biggest 4lb the rest 1lb and a half. some one said a lad had a 8lb cod at the bend but i never seen it. the sea died off so did the fish around half 9.going to give the beach a go tomorrow if a can get some lug.

well done not bad sized fish either. i fished there myself tonight from 6pm till 8.30pm just past the bend, i didn't even have a knock. moved to the bins at cambois good sea on perfect conditions but nowt there also. there is allways a next time

we were right on the bend and never saw a eight pounder the lad next to me had one nearly 4 pound jamcod.

i have decided you have gotta be round the bend to fish the pier lol, i think i will stick to the rock edges where its more peaceful and people do not cast over you so much. i think also i will take a leaf out of a mates book and fish the pier very early in the morning or very late at night in the right conditions when its a bit quieter. there are some nice folk who get on there who speak but also some very stange folk who must be in the "blyth pier clique fishin club" lol who think they own the place and seem to know better than anyone else lol,lol. i still had a canny night out though once i got off the pier.

I hate the place and would only fish there during the day with a mate who can't cope with rock fishing.
Last time i was there some arsehole was crossing my line and after the 4th time i made some jokey comment and got a mouthful along the lines he always fishes there etc,etc.
Warned him but he didn't stop so i grabbed him and made it clear i would twat him.
He picked his gear and went and stood with some other blokes who all glared at me allnight.
Gave them all the finger and stared them down.
Not everyone will be the same but i don't go fishing for that rubbish.
So now i won't go there.

best cod i know this week off Blyth pier is one of 11-8-0. Marksworld i have alway found the best place to fish is behind the breakers well before the bend. another good shot is the bend itself casting towards the beach, there are quite a few clumps of weed there the fish like. Why everbody rushed to the end beats me, unless it is calm and you are after coalies

Yeah it is a tip at times.
Must admit that is the only time i have had an attitude but i prefer not to fish in a crowd anyway.

its true what charlton said about the pier but what i have noticed is smaller fish are taken further down the pier and the better quality fish are mostly taken off the end, dont get me wrong u can get good fish at the bend and the rest of the pier,just my personal opinion.
