Big Ling

I hope it is big ling this september...i have never known as many 1-4lb ling before on the rough ground and wrecks. They are like mackerel some days, cant get past them.

Went out last week and must have caught 17 of them on biat, pirks and lures.

To be honest June is the month i have had most of my double figure ling and only had a couple in September the last few years. Biggest fish this year is a 14lb cod so hoping for a nice September double ling.

I also think its because they eating everything in sight to go off and spawn but not sure.

Last time i was out i was the same, caught about 10-12 1lb-4lb ling. But did manage my best fish so far this year, a ling of 13lb. It was really starting to annoy me after 5 or 6 of them. Every other drop i was into a small ling. Only managed a couple small codling on the same trip. Still a good day out tho. :D

i was out last monday and got a few really small ling about 2lb ish,,so im also looking for a good double in a few weeks..oh and i also got a 4lb cod and a 4lb ling at the same time on baited daylites,,thought it was a biggy,,and i foul hooked a 3 1/2 lb pollock in the side and it felt huge, was gutted ha

Is this the 32 pounder caught on the Richardson wreck Alan?
I got a couple of pictures of it but not good enough for posting here. It is a cracking fish though.

Yer that be about right, they lose loads very quick, mine lost just under 4lb in 6hrs and it was kept wet all day.

Well done that man, nice to see a few bigger ones with all them 2-5lbers that are around this year.
