Well I finally got out and did a bit fishing, picked the right day for it or WHAT :(
Went to ID fishing shop and bought some rag worm, popped down to St Peters Basin and fished for a few hours. Not a sausage mateys, the wind was blowing a gale and the rod was bouncing around like it was having an orgasm :)

Guess I picked the wrong venue and wrong day to take off work :(
Never mind maybe next time.

thx...rob

never mind mate...that wind is prob putting a lot of people off at the mo'...and with it being a westerly it'll howl up the river :o...I tried the river for an hour last week in similar conditions and like yourself the rod tip was going everywhere

better luck next time ;):D

Well done Rob on braving, what I would only describe as near impossible conditions with that wind... but keep at it mate, the day will come when you hook that fish...(a good choice of first venue too..) good luck mate.

atleast you give it go mate the wind will put alot of people off going down its a shame its blowing in the wrong direction. :(

Don't worry Rob......I'll be out there tomorrow night with the rest of them, trying to stay on my feet while the wind tries to blow my tow rope away. Wouldn't be anywhere else.

Mightn't bother with the camera though.

Rob you must of picked one of the worst days to go fishing in this wind, im sure it will get better from now also there will be too much freshwater in the river at the moment aswell.

Thanks' for the replies guys and the encouragement, I will stick with it because I sort of enjoyed it even though I go nothing.

thx...rob

Me and insano went last week similar conditions off Steetly. Everyone went home and gave us their bait as they left. An hour later the wind dropped and we hammered the fish, whitey and loads of flatties and never lost a sinker.
Not many days like that happen.

Mick.
