went out after flatties caught a plaice a flounder and surprize surprize a sea-trout. (pic in gallery) caught it on lugworm!:o but must have been the float pearl that got it.

Well done mate, i've never caught a sea trout but i have seen a few caught of local piers when peoples been spinning.:)

When i was lad i used to always fish off roker pier in the school hols, i remember walking the pier on early mornings/hot-summer days and seeing huge sea-trout jump clear of the flat water! for a split second you can see the whole fish in suspended animation...
very stong fish, especially when they get an eye of ya and try to make a run for it! best places to get them are shallowish mixed ground.

Seen a few last summer caught of Roker Pier also seen them Jumping(can't say for definite they were Sea trout i seen jumping because they may have been salmon),they come from no were at times lol, ya just there float fishing or spinning and then suddenly you see them jumping out of the water lol. I noticed most of them were a good size as well, yet to catch one though.

here in denmark your license covers everything sea, coarse, game.(about 12pounds annually) which i have:p the money goes to improving fish stocks etc.. sea-trout being the most targeted fish, get released often, and there is 1000`s of them in these waters. last month an 8,6 kg fish got caught not far from where i got that one, i bet that was a long fight eh. :D

Here is my very own hook set up which i have taken a few sea-trout on.
fixed patenoster:
the head is made of a plastic floating material, popper shaped which gives added movement. painted red and with eyes.the rest are oval beads red/silver(or black and white if your a n.u.f.c. fan) above a 2/0 hook. ragworm is best but i have caught on lugworm.

works well on flounder, plaice, dabs, and iam sure it will take all other predator fish.

just shows what good management of fish stocks can do. Bet nobody herre would mind paying £12 a year for a game, coarse and sea licence, as long as the money went to re stocking
