richies 2008 catches (some lol)

Good pics Ritchie, but your dab and Plaice in your summer catches are both Flounders mate.

2secs m8 ill go have alook:eek: sorted m8 oh and im crap about identifying flatties!! just relised there lol cos ive just caught 2 flounders last week and they look the same strange flatties! so you can get dab flounders?

Richie the pic of the wrasse has timber under it did you land it from blyth pier ?
nope the other one m8 mark x (shallow water rocks) looked up on them and founded out they love shallow water with rocks n stuff lol fightin fish too, around august time m8

In your summer catches you have a 1lb whitie thats actually a coalie mate.

the 4 whitens with the plaice? i new they were'nt whitens cos they look more yellowie so they are coalies then? i thought coalies were more a blueie silver look? like the ones in the winter catches the four whiten n plaice n bass picture, im sure they are coalies but me m8 says their whitens! grr i get confused: here look below sean!

Bottom are deffo whities and the top one is 100% Coalie
 
Richie, easy way to identify dabs from any other flatties. If you run your finger from the head to the tail, a Dab is really rough, flounders and plaice aren't. Plaice tend to be a lighter colour than flounders, and their fins more rounded. You will get flounders with some orange spots just to confuse matters further :confused:

Good advice there mate, but it should be "run your finger from tail to head" - all flatties will feel smooth stroked from head to tail, but stroke the other way and a dab feels like sandpaper.

haha arrange them well i just save my pictures & an easy edit then upload.

im glad you all like the pics anyhoo!! the bass was a whooper for me lmao!! but i hear not many ppl catch em:question:
