  • Hi Stan, Just bought a 2nd hand Century CM Crest mk1 in VG cond, the rod has the Fuji BNHG green rings on - and have to come off. Which rings would you recommend, not keen on minima or k-wags.
Whats the price of a rebuild nowadays and how long does it normally take etc etc.
    Rgds,
    Davey
hi jim gently warm the resin surrounding the guide then grt a stanley blade and cut up the guide foot so you are not cutting into the blank regards stan
Hi Stan, just looking for some advice if you can help. What's the safest way to get rings off a length of carbon fibre? (I'll explain why) I've got a Daiwa telescopic carp rod with a broken tip section, It's my most versatile rod & I use it a lot. I've got hold of another broken Diawa carp rod with the same test curve of 3lb & the broken section is a fair bit longer than the piece I need so I'm attempting to replace my broken section. The piece I've bought (for £1.20) has 2 rings & a tip ring whereas all I need is the 'floating ring' & the tip ring from mine. (hope this is making sense) I'm happy that the dimensions of the piece I've bought are pretty close to the original too, It's just a case of seeing if it's got a similar action when I get it.
So if It's feasable, how do I get the rings off without damaging owt?

    Regards, Jim.

Hi Stan, long shot here but I've Daiwa Emcast Carp rod that I bought in France a few years ago which is/was telescopic. Until I snapped the top section off in the car boot. I've spoken to Daiwa UK who said I'd have to contact Daiwa France through whoever I got it from. I've tried that to no avail. It's my favourite rod & It's (was) very versatile so my question is...could you fix it? I'm guessing you'll say no, but shy bairns get nowt!
    Cheers, Jim.
