Hey, thanks for thinking of me anyway. I did manage to get all I wanted from Billys in the end. Stocked up too, so hope I won't have to keep going back.
    Morning,mate.
I could sort you out with your {boat leads}.
    8/10/12ozs,well say £1 each,be it 8oz or 12oz,all £1 each,makes it easy across the board.
    Ive made them for years.
Anyway i live in s/shields,could meet at say morrisons {in jarrow}on the day you intend to go fishing, atm ive only got 15kgs of lead,so possibly 15 of each weights if needed.
    Call me {reg}.

    Hi Reg,

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't spot your message. I ended up getting what I needed from Billys, and I stocked up too, but it's good to know that you make them, and cheaper than a tackle shop too. I've made a note of your number and I'll give you a ring sometime.

    Cheers,
    Adrian
I have plenty of sinkers in stock if you are still wanting them. 07591257571. Thanks chris

    Hi Chris,

    Hi Chris,

Sorry for my late reply, I didn't spot your message until just now.

I ended up stocking up on everything when I called at Billys, but I have noted your number as I will eventually need replacements.

    Cheers
    Adrian
Hi noticed your boat is coming up for sale? I have a caravan at Warkworth and have been seriously considering boat ownership for a while. Can i please ask what the fees are at Amble? and do you have an idea on price for your boat? Surprised I have never seen your boat as I spend a lot of time on the piers and in the harbor
    Cheers Jonny

Hi Jonny, I'm so sorry, I didn't spot your message until now. It's a great shame too as I would have sent you all the details. She is now sold and awaiting collection to go to a new home in Middlesborough. Her name is Ayva Leigh and she is an Orkney 522. I still have the advert up on Findafishing boat.com, which reminds me I'll have to post her as sold once the buyer has paid the balance.

I've kept her in Amble marina for the past 2 years and before that I was down at Royal Quays for 4 years. I much prefer Amble though for ease of access and the marks up here are far less-fished than those down at the Tyne. There are perhaps fewer productive wrecks close by, but there are still some good one within an hour or so. I took Ayva Leigh up to the Farne Island too, which is a great fishing spot.

I had an annual berth at Amble. It was one of the 6 metre finger pontoons, so just big enough. For the 2019 season the early bird cost was £1,260. It rises by another £150 I think if you don't take advantage of that offer. You can of course just have a 6 month mooring, but in fact it works out a marginally cheaper that's all. I kept mine in the water last winter in the hope of those nice, crisp sunny days but I only got out 4 times, and from memory the fishing was poor.

I have now bought a Beneteau Antares 710 which I brought up from Sunderland last weekend. I pottered along at 10 knots and it took just over 3 hours. Her name is Bellini so look out for her. I'll keep her in the marina over winter too. The rough cost for her will be around £2,200 for 12 months. Royal Quays is around the same price I'd say. Sunderland a bit higher for less facilities, and Hartlepool about the same as Amble.

I started out as a coarse angler, then took up sea fishing when I moved up to the North east 17-18 years ago. I got hooked on boat angling when I was in Cork and stayed at the Bella Vista hotel which rents out Warriors with the hotel room. The fishing was awesome and I loved the freedom of the boat. On my first trip out of Royal Quays we had no idea where to go so fished the hard ground off Whitley Bay and caught something like 40 codling in the 2-4lb range. There was no way after that I was going back to shore fishing. It's not always as productive as that and you have to learn your marks as there is a lot of sea out there with very little in it. But the chance of blanking is very remote, and you do have a lot more fun, as well as the chance of catching the bigger stuff out on the wrecks.

I don't know what your budget is, but if you want to talk boats, pros and cons you can always give me a call one night. 07768 995976. My names Adrian and I'd be happy to steer you in the right direction.
