Well, bought bait Saturday and had planned to fish a small local mark Sunday mornings tide - course it was lashing down all night so I gave it a miss. Went along for the evening tide and they're were already people on (limited space so it would have been difficult to get another rod on). So instead I headed to Blyth pier, baited up and cast out then went to jip up my coat - sods law the zip jammed then bust trying to get it undone. Grrr. Stayed for an hour and a half but was rapidly getting cold! Lots of very small bites and pulled in one tiny codling so at least not a blank. Opted to keep the rest of the bait and pop out somewhere tonite.

At least you did,nt get a wave knocking you off your feet and taking you 20 feet and all your gear soaked. Thats a bad start. Happened to my mate at Seaham. I managed to stay on my feet but our rods all went flying.

Well i am hoping to get out Weds somewhere down there.
Only chance this week so hope i hit something

I'd steer clear of anywhere around the rivermouths mate, last night (Monday) at Sluice the leaf litter coming out from the dene was a nightmare, no weed as such just loads of leaves and twigs clogging the line up - and of course there'll be hods of freshwater after all that rain.
