12lb cod

what you will find in time is.... if you give exact details of where your getting fish from, when you next go down there you cant get near it as its mobbed on all tides.

i did on forums years ago.... i had to stop fishing some of my favourite marks because as soon as conditions were right bus loads would turn up and mob the marks meaning that i [who did them a favour] now cant get on it.

you must remember that on forums your not just telling the few people you recoginse here, but hundreds of luirkers who are only waiting for naive people to tell the world where is fishing best.

you will learn....

If you don't want to shear your catch report what is the point of being on the nesa site, the idea of a forum with catch reports is to share Catch information if you want to have secret marks then just txt your mates you want to tell,
simple really

True. But...
Rocker is a regular poster on this site with some excellent informative reports. I can not speak for him but he probably considers the NESA members as his mates and was probably only expecting a few pats on the back and "well dones" not a load of criticism.
He did offer to divulge the spot by pm on request also.

the guys who catch fish on a regular basis with plenty experience would never tell yous where they were caught, and im with them sorry but nowt worse than loads of wannabees in your way and you cant get chucked in for them,i like to see the fish reports cos it tells you the fish are around then i go and find my own i dont need telling where to go,all good marks are a good chance when theyre there its up to the idividual to get his finger out of his bottom and try somewhere, sorry but its the truth:D ps heres a 12 n arf pound pollock caught at a secret mark recently by one of my gang;)atb plum

Secret mark - worktop - your kitchen - next to the sink. :)

It's a shame cos the lad started a good point of discussion but continued flinging insults around even after he was warned.

Don't worry he can always join WSF !

Here is my tuppence worth - In the old days there may well have been marks that were only known by a very few. Nowadays with sites like this, Google Earth etc all marks are likely known by many.

The guys on this site are much more amenable to giving out mark information, help and advice than those on any other site by a long, long way. I have learned so much from the members on here through public replies, PM's and face to face.

If someone doesn't want to share where he fished that is his prerogative, the guy who started this post offered to PM information, so why he got grief over it, I have no idea. Also good fishermen know that it is not only the mark that is important, but sea state, tide, baits etc. You could catch a good bag one day and blank at the same mark the next. Therefore people who just blindly go to a mark, that they see has produced by reading about it on here, will probably not do very well.

Lastly the site is about far more than merely giving out location of marks, as I said, I have learned a huge amount from the guys on here and I am extremely grateful to all of them.

Long may NESA continue to be the No.1 fishing forum.

Well said dude. Only thing I would pick up on. This is the second or third threat with the big secret. Matter not to me good luck to all who fish there fav marks and places. For me it's about not watching eastenders and having a bit crack with the lads from work out fishing. Or any fellow angler I bump into. That's sea or fly fishing that I do.

I rarely catch anything to make it worthwhile posting :(

However if i did i would gladly share it with everyone cos i would be chuffed. Marks are different every day and with every tide so i, personally, have no problems telling people but in the end its down to each individual.

Come on Stevie m8 the forums for sharing your fortunes and telling your m8ts where and when you catch any decent fish as 12lbs is a good fish but where is your secret fishing area be a sport and tell .Tight lines.:D:D:D:D

theres more to being on the forum than looking where fish were caught or telling everyone where you caught all your fish.

i have been fishing the northeast coast since i was 12, over 40 years now, most of these fishing as a member of different clubs.

all these years of knowledge i,m only too happy to share plus general info on any marks i know about.

I saw two lads fishing on roker last season (i think they were polish) fill a bucket with undersized pin whiting and carry it off between them.
Also a similar thing on seaham pier, there are quite a few small bass on some of the marks I fish which could easily be targeted by people like this reading reports on an open forum.
So sometimes a little discretion is called for!
It's frustrating when someone dosnt declair a mark in a report but its still nice to know there are fish about, and the conditions are favorable!

You can tell anyone your mark it's knowing when and how to fish it a lot of people get it into there heads they have been the only or one of the very few have fished there so called secret marks fact is from Hartlepool to st abbs every nook and cranny has been fished there is no secret put your time in read the water and with that drop of luck you will get your just reward:):)
