1970's Icelandic Cod Wars

Just a quick post to let you all know about a program that may be quite interesting. Its about the Icelandic cod wars in the 1970's, I will be watching it

on tonight BBC 4 22.50 ten to eleven. seen it, good documentary. makes you feel a bit patriotic.BBC 4 keep watching it they have sum sort of boat/ fishing/ RLNI tipe thing going on

Watched it.Reminded me of when i was a teenager watching the Ben boats landing at North Shields in the early 70s.
You wouldn,t believe the size of some of the fish they landed from Iceland.
The best i saw was a Halibut 6ft long,3ft wide and 10 inches thick landed by the Ben Idres.
We should have done the same with our waters instead of letting all the EU boats plunder them,we might have some Cod now if they had.....
