fished the beaches around ardwell for a couple of hours blanked ! 
went to another new mark at drummore blanked ! by the way there was 6 of us fishing 
that was sat over , went to the black rock at the mull sunday morning plenty of mackeral ,a good few pollack around the pound mark on float fished mackeral ,and a wrasse ,it was red hot everyone got burnt 
so we decided to go to portpatrick for a bit of lunch ,had fish n chips of van there was lush ,we were all nursing hangovers 
i looked in the harbour to only see about 4 or 5 mullet about the 4-5lb mark so while everyone alse decided to fish the rocks for pollack and wrasse i went and bought a loaf of bread and started to mash it with mackeral and put it in my lobster pot and try to get the big mullet feeding ,an hour passed before a mullet came in to my swim so i dropped in a bit off bread on a size 16 hook and scared him away :red:, so i changed tactics and put braid on and another half an hour passed before they came back on the feed ,they kept on nudging my bait and swimming away then a bigger fish came in eating the mackeral so i put a little bit on his nose and he took it , i struck and all hell broke loose twenty minutes passed before he was calm enough to try and lift it up as i landed it i realised that about 30 people where watching me on the other side of the harbour and they all gave me a nice round of applause:red:, what a fight but i played it cool 
its head and tale were over each side of my box it must have been 8lb ,my mate took photos but he is not on here only on facebook . we went to a beach at lochryan on mon morning but i only had 3 ballan wrasse , nearly $hit though when that big ferry opened his engines and caused a miny tidal wave washed everbodys gear about 20 foot up the beach i was soaked ,but a great trip and the fight of that thick lipped mullet i will never forget 
, seen snatcher at clashwannon showed him photos but never got the chance to drink or fish with him maybe next time
