2008 Catch Report

here's a run down on the fish ive caught this year.
ive been out 26 times this year and 4 of these were all nighters and one was on the boat.

fish caught......

30 whiting
28 codling
7 pouting
3 coalfish
6 plaice
8 dab
4 flounder
1 eel
2 rockling
15 mackeral
3 lobsters

total 104 fish

and i only blanked 3 times, so it was a canny year for me.

Nice record mate, ive been out 5 times this year blanked 3 i only sea fish from Nov to March then i course fish. was fishing the walkway last night lost loads of tackle and emptied 2 reels of line But i caught a 6" codling LOL im out tonight not shure where yet prob some where local to me.

That sounds like a decent season, Tony.

I only fished 16 times in 2008. Only managed 1 size Codling, about 2lb.
6 sessions over Xmas, which usually cheers me up, resulted in 2 tiny flounders and three Rocklings. Summer was better - caught Mackerel of course but also my first decent Plaice for years.
All in all a rubbish season but I still love fishing. It's a disease. Ain't no cure.

That's a great season Tony! sounds like you've caught more fish than the entire Alnwick club! Their top angler this year is on about 45lb. past years would see them on around the 100lb mark.
Me I've been out around 26 times also and had 4 cod, 2 coalfish and 1 rockling.

tony, what percentage of that total was from tynemouth pier ? reading your catch reports your on there quite a bit & im thinking of joining a club so i can get on there myself ,cheers davey

33 of them were from tynemouth, you should join tynemouth club they're a great bunch of lads. i can p.m you dave haleys number if you want, he's the lad that runs the matches.
