I appreciate that some of you brave soles have already taken to the open seas since the 1st of Jan 2016 but Im just wondering given that its 1st March tomorrow how many more weeks before the rest of us take a peak out with any optimism
Another 3 or 4 weeks for us Howard, fish there I am told but getting too old for cold fishing trip
I think Tonys up and ready for it (by the number of rigs he's tied) but I need a warmer climate
I usually wet a line towards the end of March on the first spring like day with light winds. Bait fishing at anchor, as the water is usually still dirty. Put a scent trail out, and let the fish come to you.......hopefully

Last Saturday, after 20 nautical miles, 2 wrecks, 3 anchor uptiding positions and some 5 cod as return, I decided to give it a maintenance break until Easter
We Have already broke ower 2016 hoo doo ...sneaked a few early season trips in with canny success .Now with "Shady" getting re-engined and a little scrub up we should be ready for the first comp the week after Easter fingers crossed,We certainly have got to put the hours in to get the rewards out
Hopefully looking to get the first trip out in a few weeks. Couple of things to sort out on boat before then. Seems to of been a lifetime since I was out fishing last. Good luck to everyone this season.
