CRIKEY ..........Mark, the last I heard from you - you mentioned something about buying a big old boat:question:.........................just been looking through recent topics (after seeing this thread) and learned that you've now got it............and you, Ell and Marc are bringing her all the way from the Caledonian Canal, this weekend...............
Excellent stuff! What an adventure........................as Norman says - definitely an epic for NESA......I remember Normans' report of his return from Amble (after the 1st NESA Boat Comp).....that made ermmmm.....gripping reading........I hope that Neptune is a bit kinder to you on your journey home :exclam:
I'm sure you'll all have some stories to tell...............wil you be stopping off at the Dogger for a drift or two....lol........................watch out for those pesky oil / gas rigs.......they're rather large......ermmmmm - as are the Scandanavian ferries.......and they go faster than they appear.....don't they, Marc....lol.
Honest though..safe journey lads.........I'll be thinkin' of you over this weekend.
Seriously - wish I'd known earlier........would've volunteered as Galley cook, deck hand, powder monkey, stowaway......what-ever (ermmmmm anything but cabin boy to Ell !!).....
Parked at the sea lock ready for the morning, one nice surprise.... We only need 600 litres of fuel to fill up!! 2 tanks ere already full. Ell has gone a domestic, been assigned 'safe' tasks like cleaning.!
He even managed to convince achinese take away to deliver to the big blue boat next tovthe locks!
Still haven't managed to dispose of the bath tub though.
Mark seeing as you're on. (I thought you'd be wanting an early night, like..lol)
I'll re-direct me question to you - as you're the best one to ask....lol.....any idea on what time you hope to be coming up the Tyne on Monday?

The best I could get from mark was early monday TC, but I suppose it depends very much on weather, tides , progress etc etc ....... (and I hear the etcs are huge out there)
