After blanking at the open me n my m8 (spunkytrunks) ended up down the quay to use up the rest of our bait. Nowt was happenin! After a few casts and a couple of knocks me m8 managed to bringin a 33cm coalie to save his blank for the day.
It was gettin on, about 6:30pm, darkness was startin to set in. I casted out and without even realising my line had caught a gully in mid air. My 5oz was enough to bring it down to the water. Before reeling in I left it for a few min to see if it would shake off but it was not going to budge. Anyways, reeled him in and up the side of the quay for my m8 to untangle him and off he flew, surprisingly well. Does this count as a catch to save my blank? Haha... Sorry lads, nay pics 

They can be a nightmare to untangle. Biting, vomiting... I useually take a towel cover their eyes, and cut all the line off from around them, making sure it's all gone.

Seen lads slice their wings off... They got a beating when the guy next to
them noticed what they had done. Was rather amusing :)
