515 mag2 vs fathom 15

which is the best and what would u chose i was thinking of getting a akios shuttle,7ht mag or a abu tsr but when i went to the fishing shop i was told there more for the feild than fishing so i said what should i get he said the fathom 15 but was told it wont cast as far as the 515 mag2 then i thought should i just get another 515 mag2 as they can cast a great distance and have good cranking power i also like the one i have whats ur thoughts lads which of the 2 would u get thanks

im gonna go for the penn 515 mag2 as i al ready have one and love it im sure im not the only person who loves them and im happy with the distance and performance of the reel and ive had the reel a year and half and it hasnt let me down apart from when it started screaming when casting but was soon sorted with new bearings

p.s when i do finally get sick of them i can all ways upgrade to something better

for me the original penn 525 stamped usa on foot of reel cast a bit better than the fathom but the fathom casts better than the mk 2 penn 525 thats what i have found.

ok mate but ive gon for the another 515 mag2 as i already have one and like the way they perform and have coped with everything i have thrown at them they cast great and have decent cranking power
