Ive recently bought a 525 mag2 of a lad on here and it was in perfect condition

Now though i was on the pier on thursday when reeling in the reel started to make a tingling noise as if a piece of metal is rolling around
Any ideas what it could be
Does someone wanna take a look at it for is !!

Cheers in advance

P.s. the spool seems alot louder whilst spinning aswell

sound as if magnets come out of place take side plate offand super glue in place, some guys have had this problem before, i have got six mags and never had a problem or take it to your local tackle if yo not sure but it is a simple job if it is magnets, that is for mg mag 1, so am assuming same for mag 2

The Mag 2 doesn,t have seperate magnets like the earlier reels.
It has a single magnetic plate with another plate that covers it when turned off.
The noise from the reel could be just a bit of grit or sand on the spool catching the cage, which is easily cleaned.
Most tackle shops will have a look at it for you if you don,t want to dismantle it yourself.

Does the ratchet still work? if the gold ratchet button is loose or missing, it has come off internally and will rattle about inside as you describe. I would put money on it that it is the cause.

It still works mate i think its a bearing

I don,t think it will be the bearings mate, they are thick with heavy grease when new.
Most lads take out the bearings and soak them in lighter fluid to get rid of it before using the reel.
Let someone with some experience of fixing reels have a look at it.Its the only way to find out whats wrong.

:red:hi there m8 its most definately sand or grit with the new reels these days the tolerances are so fine if you get any grit ir sand in it echos right through the reel simply take the end plate off which is 3 screws remove the spool and wipe down with a lint fee cloth, spra a bit wd wipe down then lightly oil should do the trick when on assembly dont over tighten the small screws and try and get the same torque or tightness which ever good luck m8.

The noise is easy enough to sort out
It the tingling noise inside the reel im more worried about

ting a ring tin ting thats how mine sounds on the beach sometimes...good spray of fresh water and the sound is gone mines a 525 mag....normally sand /grit as gremlin said

Reeet av had the side plate off
Take the spool out and the ting noise goes
Ive washed wd'd and re oiled put the spool back in and the tingy noise starts again tbh i dont think its anything major as it works fine
