525 supermag slipping on retrieval

Just a little help I have a as above and want to know if anyone has had the same problems

possibly pinion gear or the clutch settings are wrong order or maybe oil on them or star drag isnt tightened right up
,mine is up for spares n repairs on fleeblebay with that type of problem

As said try stripping the drag system down clean the metal washers and fiber washers with a degreasant something like brake and clutch cleaner used on cars and becareful not to damage the fiber washers put back together making sure no grease gets on them.

If that don't work it's a case of replacing parts. Has the ring around the pinion gear broke or teeth worn ? If so I'd replace that gear then main gear or might be the 2 teeth on the spool clutch plate that is worn.

P.s if somebody has messed about with the reel before you I would use the schematics to make sure reassembly in the right order.
