58 cm plaice maybe ??

hi lads/lasses ,
wondered if you could tall me if this is a plaice or not ? it looks very dark to me but maybe it is ? what do you think ? i took a close up of the head because i think there is a way to see what it is that way ?
thanks for the help in advance , ill be out again next tuesday so hopefully ill have a few more fish and some better pictures for you all

looks like it to me last pic there are some spots showing carnt see the head properly but the raised bulging eyes also indicates a yes

not great pics and looking at most of them i would say definately a flounder.

but.... in the last pic it looks as though there might be red spots on it.

where did you catch it? if up river theres less chance of it being a plaice.

sorry about the bad pics lads , best i could do with bad iphone
dabcatcher it was caught in norway from shore about 50 meters dept . there was red/dark brown spots on it that why i tried to get a good head shot

Pretty hard to tell from the pics but my vote is flounder, just going by the shape, it has the classic flounder dimond shape.

Here is a pic of Plaice i caught in Norway over 2lb.

And here is my mate Chut with a big Flounder caught on Tyne

He also caught a Halibut at over 4lb in. norway.

Might help.
ps Flounder was biggest i have seen.

The fish you caught looks very like a baby Halibut. Especially caught in Norway.
