As promised i would report the results of the new outboard onc ei had fitted it and tried it.

Well me and my dad took Stingray out about 1mile off the piers with the main engine then used the new "get me home" outboard for the way back.

Conditions sligth sea

10mph nw wind

1 hour after low tide so going against the tide.

Anyway, it performed better than i expected moving the boat along with all the gear on and 2 people at 4.2-2.8knots with easy, the steering was responsive from the cabin and i feel anything under a mod sea with out a strong head wind and the outboard will do the trick.

Any big seas or strong head winds and it will be coastguard but it does the job i expected it to do very well.

Ow 3 customs boats in the Tyne, one cam very close and checked on us and then guided a small trawler out and docked alongside.

I passed you approx 3pm, around about Tynemouth lifeboat station, I was heading towards the piers in the opposite direction, you were moving along nicely, I would of never known you were being powered just by your auxillery, nice one matey.

Yer it was kicking along nice, ran it for 2hrs on the outboard on 80% power.

Have a few little tasks to do with the cooker as it was getting on my t**s rattling around so once thats done will try a few hours out..was shocked that the water was not bad only 1mile off.
