hi all
was thinking of getting a secondhand 7ht(standard) in the new year
so im calling on you lads that have one on your
opinions of them:)
ive had a mag elite and loved to cast with it but did not
like reeling in with it as it felt like i was pulling a bus in:D
ive heard that the 7ht gears are a lot stronger compared to the
mag elite!
all i will be using it for is fishing the tyne as im not very
adventurous:D
cheers
Russell:D

I have a couple of 7hts i only use them over clean beaches anything rough i would say slosh or similar are more suited there gear shaft and gears are stronger

cheets mate!!
i have got the slosh20 as an option but
i still fancy the 7ht because the wife has
a greys g-mag and a penn 535 for my xmass prezzies:D
so thats the bases coverd really:)
i manly fish the walker riverside area of the tyne so thats clean
to mixed so that should be fine for a 7ht mate:)

Same as above i use a 7ht turbo with mono mag, i only use it for clean beach fishing id say thats what they are suited to, lovely casting reels aswell

Not designed for the rough stuff, excelent on clean venues. I have a 7ht mag and its class on the beach for putting baits at distance.

thats what atracted me mate but i would never take it near
the rough stuff like i said if i got one it would only be used over clean to mixed
ground as i only fish the walker area of the tyne:)
saying that by new year ive had changed my mind by then and be looking for
a slosh20:D

I've used the 7ht for years, as said, only river or clean beach. The down side is the pathetic small handle 0n them, but a much better reel once fitted with a power handle off the slosh, totally transforms them.

they do look smart those ones i must say!:)
will keep me eyes open in a months time then:D
cheers mate!!

I think the price of them has gone through the roof a bit as I only paid £100notes for mine plus £5 delivery like. Mind that was 4 years ago from Bristol Angling Centre, I'm not sure if that shops still trading today but at the time it was the cheapest place i could find.
