Just to keep you in the picture regarding the amount raised for the RNLI through the shore comp, auction and the fantasic amount raised by IanW and the lads at Siemmens (AGAIN).............

It\'ll be a cheque in the region of £870 which will be going to the RNLI.
:P :o :D

Once all the money\'s sorted and deposited in the NESA RNLI Fund Raising Account, I\'ll get in touch with Michael Charlton to arrange another cheque handover night.

For those who don\'t know, Michael is the RNLIs fund raising manager
for the N.E. area.

There\'s a good chance that the value of the cheque could well be even more :o

This\'ll bring our total raised for thr RNLI since we started these events to approaching £5,000.

journal ??
Another £300 was raised for the RNLI by the internet fishing club NESA after an auction and fishing match held last week, Scott Davison winning the match with 14 whiting for 8-2-0.

bit light on the amount there alan lol

Did anyone invite Alan along? He is a great supporter and contributor to NESA and the NE Sea Angling scene in general. And normally gets his facts right.

Ian called into the shop today and handed me £300 in cash for the NESA/RNLI account from himself and the lads at Seimens.

I\'ll make sure this goes into the account first thing Monday morning.

A MASSIVE thankyou to Ian and his workmates.

WELL........It looks like we\'ve broken the £1,000 barrier on this :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

AUCTION: 325.00
COMP: 235.00 (estimated......possibly more)
IanW and the lads at Siemmens: 300.00
MikeR 15.00
Elton (AnglersNet) 100.00
Les (from the sale of the bonny PINK smock) 50.00

PROMISED TOTAL (so far)......£1,025.00

I\'ve e-mailed Michael Charlton (for those who don\'t know...Mike is the RNLIs\' Fund Raising Manager for ther N.E. Region) and told him that we\'ll have another substantial cheque for him, in the near future.

Needless to say, he was well impressed with our efforts.

This is part of the e-mail I recieved from him.......

\"Would you be interested in donating the money to the Grace Darling Appeal. we are trying to raise £150,000 for an Educational Facility as part of a redevelopment of the museum. With this we can teach children about Grace Darling, the work of the Lifeboats and about being safe at the sea. If not, let me know if you want the money to go to any particular station.\"

Now, as the annual boat comp is dedicated to raising money for a chosen N.E. Lifeboat Station and the money we make from the annual shore comp + other fund raising events is to go to the RNLIs\' central funds.......I\'ve got absolutley NO OBJECTION to the cheque we\'ll be handing over going towards the RNLIs\' Grace Darling Appeal.

Let me know how you feel about the money we\'ve raised this time being put to THAT use. Basically there\'s 2 questions:

1. Do you want the money to go to the Grace Darling Museum Appeal?

OR

2. Do you want the money to go to the RNLI\'s central funds?

PLEASE REPLY TO THESE QUESTIONS IN THE TOPIC \"£1,000+....\"
IN THE \"General\" SECTION OF THE RNLI FORUM
