a bit more EU madness

this one is going to affect both shore and boat anglers alike http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Resource/Doc/1061/0073688.pdf

go to Article 47 on page 41

the upshot of this proposal is that all catches made by Recreational Sea Anglers are to be included in the national quota for that member state

so when commercial boat landings and RSA caatches are added together and the quota is achieved, it becomes CLOSED TO ALL FISHING - boat & Shore angling and commercial alike!

yet, foreign boats that still have quota will be entitled to come and continue fishing

Utter 'kin madness, commercials will start to resent RSA's for reducing their quota, RSA's will doubtless blame commercials when fisheries are closed

Hi i believe some of the under 10 m trawlers out of hartlepool are in a trail scheme and they can catch and land anything (any amount )they want

sounds quite sensible to me, lets ee Alan Skinner reports a 1,000lb catch out on his boat, the one and only for the season, they multiply that by the number of days he goes out, what, he has caught the whole quota for the North Sea, quick shut the fisahery down. Then they get the weigh in from an open, they hit it just right and have a bumper weigh in, they multiply that by the number of opens along the NE, flippin heck we have exceeded the quota for next year as well. Then they walk along the pier and see little Johnny catching loads of fish, wow multiply taht by the estimated number of anglers in the NE, wow the quota for the next few years has been used up. Heck we haven't even considered the commercials yet, quick shut the fishery down and let the foreigners in.

Have they gone mad or what
