A Nice Day Out In The Sun

Got out yesterday afternoon for the first time in about 3 weeks due to a frozen shoulder. Came out from Amble and headed south fishing around Bondicarr Bush and Northern Hill. Only one other boat in the area and the seas were flat calm . The fishing was slow with a few small codling and mackerel. The mackerel were not prolific and very very small. In fact smaller than I have ever hooked before. Although I would have liked to have seen more fish it was still a very enjoyable afternoon out.

Sometimes, it not always about catching monster fish. When it's calm like that, and you're out on the water you just get a good feeling inside that's hard to beat. Good on you for making the effort, and you still managed to catch. Nothing better!

we fish out of south shields still plenty of cod up here and mackerel some small some big having to go 3 mile out for mackerel but still nice to get out and drop a line
