A night away from home!

My friend was going to buy a caravan on the Isle of Gigha and asked if I wanted to come on a wee road trip and a night on the Island - absolutely!

Gigha is a lovely little island with a population of about 150 people, 1 shop, 1 garage, 1 hotel and no police. My friend bought the tourer caravan, hooked it up and we parked in a field close to the hotel, after negotiations with the Farmer and rustled up some food. By the time we got to the hotel bar it was about 10pm and we had a few pints. The bar was quite full for a Sunday, with locals and yachties. A few pints later and before we knew it, midnight had come and gone. Noticing they were still serving drink I went up to the bar, ordered a last round and asked the owner "When do you close?" to which he replied "We usually close about October!"

We will be back!

PS Stupidly forgot my camera :(

been there many years ago when I was a nipper on holiday, still can remember the place vividly, swimming in the clear water at some sandy bay, loved it. Just a pity a couldn't of necked a few when I was there.
if I can remember rightly there's palm trees and all sorts there.:)

There is something particularly satisfying about a good old fashioned "lock-in", a very relaxed and civilised way to drink a night away ;)
