Nice 1 Mr R, ya having canny sessions aint ya, now get the footage sorted out and uploaded lol, well done Dave mate

Way too thin to be a springer. It is fin perfect though, best guess would be a rawner.
Last years model for sure.

If you want to see what a "proper"fish looks like, have a look at the Fishpal Tyne homepage and scroll to the bottom;)

Lovely condition Salmon that mate, very well done, bet it gave you a good scrap! :p :D

Just goes to show our rivers are slowly but surely getting cleaner with stunning fish like that getting caught, especially how fin perfect and brightly coloured that fish is, lovely specimen. :)

Definitely a springer mate it had a couple of lice on it,the tails were off them though .Been in a day at most.
I have caught plenty of them over the last 40 years to know the difference..

A rawner is not a skinny fish by the way its a fish that has not spawned therefore they have a saggy belly:exclam:

We do get a few long lean fish like that on the Wear,a lot of older lads i know class them as the "original" Wear fish.
Most fish now are shorter and stockier which began entering the river in the 80,s when the rivers were stocked from the kielder hatchery, they look like Tyne fish.
