I am looking to fish tonight 2 hours either side of high tide. I can fish anywhere on the coast and want to fish a beach. Whitley bay was suggested but seems a low water mark.
I know nobody has a crystal ball but good knowledge and experience from seasoned anglers is sure to help.
I have been taking my mate who is new to sea angling and he aint impressed with the blanks.

pick your trips carefully

pick your trips carefully

What I would say to you is if you don’t want to many blanks pick your trips carefully keep away from flat seas, high tides and day time make sure you have good quality bait if you carnt get your own buy the best look for yellows rather that blow lug don’t forget mussel one of the most under rated baits. I have been out 8 times 45 fish and only 1 blank that night the sea was really to big don’t know where you are from but get out at night without your rod and walk that rock marks and see where people are fishing it’s the best way to get knowledge

I would suggest your best bet may be the river with the current conditions...drop hook sizes down to 1/0s or smaller and you should get some action

there are anglers that can pull Cod out on a flat sea but they generally know their sh*t and have done their homework
