broke an eye on my beachcaster so took my flattie rod down to king edwards bay tonight armed with a couple of bags of rag and a frozen macky , size 1/0 2 hook flapper with the barbs crushed , 2 hrs before low water then 2 up ,1st cast a double hit of plaice :) and one was not quite a double sided but side brown on one side the other brown & white a bit like camo ( will try to get the pic of my phone for the double sided sticky) another 3 plaice come next then my 1st ever turbot :D then hook into something that feels a bit better but loose it as it gets close , then another plaice & loose something a bit better again so changed the hooks to barbed , next cast hit something bigger yeeha my 1st shore caught codling :D ( see photo) another plaice then a plump dab ( i think see photo ) all in all a top night :):):)

cracking night mate thanks for the report and cracking fish and pics by the way where is king edwards bay never herd of it:D

Never had a flatty from that mark before (must have been lucky when driving) but it does always throw up codling..well used to when i used to winter fish.

Canny sesh anyway, you lose much gear there? i used to lose about 4-5 sets dependign on how rough it used to be, odd spot of rock and kelp.

it really depends where you fish as you can fish the beach up the side of the rocks or you can fish on the rocks to the left hand side into the rock/kelp beds.

king edwards bay is at tynemouth mate its the little bay down from the priory

Excellent sesh mate, well done. Looks like a flounder though bud. Are those fish being prepared in turmeric by the way? Or do all fish from north of the tyne look like that? lmao;)
