a series of fortunate events, TJ Gannet today

today was different....



Jims pump still hadn't arrived for North star so he had to cancel a party he had booked for today, i'd suggested we had a run out on Darlin as the weather was cracking on saturday and sunday looked just as good...

not to be....got up at the crack of dawn and greeted the day FOG !

we had a run round the headland to see how bad it was and decided to give it an hour or so to see if it was going to lift,

no radar on my boat so i was kinda thinking that we'd abandon the day unless the fog lifted

any way, Jim rang Bernie ( TJ Gannet ) to see if he was out today and call round for a coffee and a bit of crack ( not drugs ) before he went out

as it turned out Bernie's party booked for that day had failed to show

...... a plan was forming....can you guess ?

a quick run round to the yacht club to pick up our gear ....and off the 3 of us went ....

bernies radar working correctly....spirits up, thinking for once, GOD maybe might look down on us today as we were due a bit of luck...

and he certainly did.......

we had fish to double figure's eventually keeping 9 and released any more we caught that were under 7lb

a big thanks to Bernie for saving the day, and a big thank you to the lads that decided not to bother phoning bernie to cancel their trip, hope you're reading this...

oh and thanks go to Jim for catching the second biggest fish today

And of course, the bragging rights go to Rob with the biggest fish, but only just!! I did release the biggest, but then again we all have to do our bit for conservation and fair play and when Bernie remembers to fasten his shads on before he puts them in the water, he to can take part instead of watching them float away. But joking aside Bernie, thanks for taking us out it was a brilliant day with some good craic and good fish. Cheers mate

Yes it is a shame would have been nice to meet you the part is arriving tomorrow so they have assured me so hopefully all will be sorted before the weekend
