Steamed out of Amble at around 11 met by a breezy but calmish day. Tried a mark north of the island but the drift and conditions were a bit uncomfortable due to the breeze. Went round the back of the island to shelter and picked up the odd cod. After around an hour the wind dropped so we went back to the first spot and we were into the cod from the start. Using macky and my homemade tinsel lures we bagged around 20 cod along with macky. All cod were around the 2-3lb mark wind picked up at 4pm so it was time to go back as the sea was picking up as well. In all a good day slow start but the end made up for it. Forgot me camera so no pics I'm afraid saw 3 other boats out they seemed to be sticking to the back of the island. stayed out for around 5 hours.

Only me 4th trip out due to the weather and shifts. off for the first 2 weeks in september might be able to get some late action then.......

Nice to see someone made it out, i popped out at 3pm on Wed...west wind my ass, it was north for a time then north west, sea mod, nice to see Amble still producing also as been quite this year.

Nice one George, keep em coming mate. I used to berth at Amble, great clean water and always good clean fish ..... :)

That has cheered me up, the fish are still there!! We are off tomorrow as soon as there is enough water over the sill at the marina, prob about half ten. were you of chesimore? We were planning on heading south as the forecast is much better for tomorrow but if the fish are as close as that it might be scrapped! Let you know how we get on,

Graham.
