Well folks looks like my fishing's over for quite a while as i had all of my gear washed in2 th sea 2nyt whilst blanking on seaham north pier in the badger comp:( so some lucky angler will probly reel some canny gear soon. Very lucky not 2 b crabfood tho 4 which i'm very thankfull also pleased th 3 other lads got off th end as the conditions went from being ok 2 very dangerous in the space of 10 mins hope nobody else gets stuck on there. I wud advise all u mad fishermen not 2 take any risks as its not worth your life.
 
unlucky mate:mad: a got hit the other day when settin up by a rougue wave,me to rods were floatin away and me box got knocked up the beach, so a dived into surf after rods luckily a didnt loose owt:rolleyes:

as you say tho u could of been crab food, so u can luck on the positive side:)
 
Alright Jonny, I was the lad who was with you when we got knocked to the ground by the water. Hope no one saw us clinging onto each other in an attempt to stop us from going into the DRINK :o Jokin apart mate, ive been down this morn whilst at work to look for some of your gear, no joy so far, but will put the word out in case it gets handed into the nick. You never know. Ive never seen the water turn so violent in so little time. Moved onto Spiles, Wet,Cold and fishless Waste ov time.

Alright mate we were very lucky last nyt relieved u lads came off wen u did lyk i did'nt expect it 2 get tht bad dont think i'll b going on there 4 a while. Cheers for having a look for my gear m8 much apreciated. I've also been down today at low tide and could'nt see it anywhere so looks lyk i wont b doing any fishing for a bit. Do u know if the 2 lads that were on the middle got off ok?
 
My mate Ian got knocked on his ar-e when we were fishing at the Spiles couple months back. His gear went everywhere and so did mine. I managed to stay on my feet.
Thats one of the things i dont like about Seaham pier - its small so low in the water.
Sorry you lost your gear but at least your ok.

Aye mate, think they stayed on the end till low water..Have you tried your house insurance
 
Very sorry to hear about the loss of gear ,but the main thing is you are ok ,i have a spare rod and real you can borrow if you are stuck,its a greys apollo mk two,and a slosh 30,let me know if you need them ,or tell ian and he will let me know ---Karl
 
:(Sorry to hear you lost your gear; but very pleased you and the other guys got back to safety, this could of been another terrible tragedy!!!, keep safe all of you!!!;)

Cheers mate thts gud of u but i should b ok i've got a spare rod and reel ther tht i can use 4 now until i get sum new gear.

I saw everything mate. that was me on the south pier.

one lad got knocked off his feet i think unless he just stumbled.

the guy in the middle was brave to stop on, the swells seemed to die on the drop.
