abu 6500 knobby mag convertion

got a 6500 slidey mag and thought id try and do a nobby mag convertion on it.bought the mag kit from blakdog and had a go

heres the reel and the kit.the following picture show the reel as bits where done to it

then the finished reel.loads of adjustment on the mags

if it improves or helps with your casting OK, may be worth it, but in my opinion it looks totally wrong and unbalanced.

it gives loads more control over the spool speed,anyway just thought id try it,if you dont like it dont do it,each to there own

mardenq.. dont get me wrong.. Ive thought about doing what you did, as i dont like the magnetic plastic slide's on the current abu's, but lately i think the new akios 656 ctm reels look to of dealt with it, and im after getting one ,but still waiting for word on them as to performance. ( i know the new R TG-F1 does the same but the price is way out for me, and im not into tournament casting )

Neat job and removes the ever present risk of accidentally pushing the slider up with the base of your thumb as you grip the spool to cast!
