yeah lol and i need that to get fishing I'm still unsure what to do really been looking at the akios shuttle because I like the akios 656 I have now and I could just use my greys g mag for rough ground work. When I say rough ground I use the phrase lightly because the roughest I've fished and planned on fishing is roker/ ss pier lol I cant stand losing gear all day long so try to fish places like hendon prom where you need a bit of distance though the same goes at ss pier you need some distance to clear the snags so any good casting reel should do me I think lol. what do you guys reckon?

mk1 525's are my fave reel and I've owned the majority of reels on the market! There all I use now. I fish clean ground, heavy kelpy rock, cliffs - anywhere and a 525 will do the job.
Abu's are a fantastic casting reel. Sweedish 1's are better quality. As long as you pump the rod instead of just winching then they "can" be used over mixed to heavy if needed. A friend of mine managed a 10lb 8oz bullhuss with a dogfish on the other hook using an Abu 6500.

Landed my pb 10lb 12oz Starry Smoothhound using my 6500 Sports Mag. One of the hardest fighting fish in British waters; it stopped me dead a few times and took line more than once but the reel never missed a beat.

As a clean ground reel the old made in Sweden 6500s (green or orange Mag Elite and the blue Sports Mag) are pretty hard to beat. Will cast as far as you will ever need them to, can be made as docile as you like and will land pretty much anything that will swim past.

These days I prefer my 7HT Mags but I'd have no problem going back to the 6500s if necessary.

decent enough reel the g-mag! got a lot of unwanted
bad press when it came out but i cant find nowt wrong with them
until summit you fancy comes along its a decent enough reel mate
