Abu 6500

Hi Lads

Was out on saturday fishing half way through the session and the handle on 6500 wouldnt turn to bring my line in had to hand ball the line in and call it a day ...took it apart when i got home cleaned and greased it, its running a bit better but i cannot get the drive shaft removed from spindle it seems to be seized on....it is not running freely....any ideas how to get it off or does it need removing?

Bit of a novice so any advice would be helpful....

is that curclip on the top not stoping it or maybe thats just the handle part try some wd40 and leave for 15mins :question:

Hi Coddy

No mate i took that off....the cog with all the washers comes off but just cant seem to get the drive shaft off ill give the WD40 a bash...

i had the same prob it was a bit burr on the brass threads i just kept turning and pulling it came after a while

it will be the silver thing thats stopping it moving be all seized on the lubricant shud free it
