hi folks and before i start may i wish you all a happy xmas a nd a fruitfull newyear,
right down my dilema.i have been a sea angler for over 20 years and i fish mainly off rocks with occasional pier and mixed ground beach .all rounfd the seaham to hartlepool area.what im doing is going to bring my main setup up to date.ive been using a century tip tornado and pokey greys for the past 10 years coupled with a slosh 20 and a 535,both rods and reels are still servicable but are showing there age as i do fish a lot in the winter months over some rough ground.ive worked hard this year and as i dont drink, smoke a little and dont take drugs or have an expensive wife i have a few quid to invest in a new set up.my main rock rod and reel of the greys and the 535 are good for the rest of this season at least but i must bring my distance gear up to date.im looking for some thing 13 ft ish and i cast reel low pendulum stlyle from rocks and rough beaches.i need a bit poke in the rod and reel but not a telegraph ploe as only weigh in at lightweight.i will spend the right money for the right rod and reel as you only get what you pay for in the fishing world, any advice lads, cheers

reel wise for distance i recomend a 525 super mag rod wise i have my eye on orion never used one tho lol im same as you after new rod

lightweight meself jonnez just upgraded to kompressor sport 525 mag im no expert but but im well pleased with this combo

cheers lads ,your advice on the supermag seems well justified.everyone i speak to gives the same reply.they are the nuts im informed by my juniors.
still mixed over the rod choice.i had a few chucks with the kompressor sport about 5 years ago and it was too stiff for me.there is a differnce between lobbing a 5oz lead and small bait with a stiff rod to what i like to do.i like to cast reel low with 180g leads and big baiting from mixed and rocky shorelines.i cast with a wide slow pendulum cast and the rod MUST bend for me to reach the distance.being only 10 stone restricts the stiffnes in the middle third of a rod for me thats why the tip tornado was a winner.stiff but ,thin flexible but still poerfull middle and a easy loading tip.again thanx for the advice on reel as i have my mind on the supermag now
just the rod to go lol

look at the zziplex sst perfect for what you want , go along with everybody else on reel choice penn 525 faultless in my opion
