adviced needed please...whilst out the other night i got snagged up,on trying to release it(stupidly not just pulling the line) my sl30sh made a rather strange grinding sound:( now the handle wobbles and you can pull line from the spool again with a clicking/grinding noise:( any ideas on what is wrong and how much to repair? thanx

probably lambengland, every day is a schoolday, you learn something new every day,its my first multi, and it was cheap so not really complaining too much.:D

In all honesty mate i think most people manage to have them years with no trouble what so ever... But ive had nothing but bad ecperiences with them

thats it mate, gonna give this one a new lease of life with some new bits and see how it go`s...i`ve only used it a handful of times with limited nests:D but thats with the breaks on, lol ,so for me thats pretty good...out of interest what do you use mate?

Swear by the older made in usa penn 525 mags... Although ive recently bought a saltist 30 for heavier lines and its a real pleasure to use! I also use abu 6500 for clean ground even though i dont like them... Hope to upgrade to 7ht mag next year

all look good to me,the saltist because of the deeper spool?...sorry for sounding daft am a realatively newby....fished for years but just chuckin a line out an hopin for the best but now am tryin to pay attention....watchin an learnin all the time, just recently bought this slosh an a zziplex primo synchro for a canny price...just tryin to get the best out ov wot av got basically.

The saltist are similar if not same size as slosh but in my opinion are a lot better built with higher quality components and consequently are unbeleivably stong and smooth.. Quite heavy tho... The penn 525's are great for up to max 20 line for me... I prefer 18lb .35 diamater on them otherwise i find they dont hold enough line... where i can get plenty of 30lb on the saltist30 for fishing rough or when im being lazy can fish with no shock leader by toning my casting down

i like the saltists myself but dont know if there worth more than double the price of the slosh 30 if ur using a slosh 30 for heavy work your only casting around 70 yds ideal for 30lb line if your stuck and reeled to tight to flick the switch to free spool just loosen ur star drag pull some slack then pull ur line or i hold the spool and walk back never bent one slosh spindal yet they seem bomb proof were as the saltist they see rock marks and the paint comes off well the old silver ones do the new black ones seem to be alot better built but to be honest a strong 20lb line i.e sensor and a good knotted 80 lb shock leader on a penn 525 take some beating my best real rough ground reel is a penn 535
