Advice Required

Due to the lack of sport on our beaches & piers recently, I was thinking of venturing further north and maybe giving Druridge Bay a try. I remember reading some previous posts on here about catching Turbot from the beach there.
Could anyone please advise:
Is Druridge Bay productive at this time of year?
Best time of year for Turbot?
Best tide - Low or high?
Day / night / dawn / dusk?
Best bait?
Best rigs to use?
Long casts vs short distance?
Anything other advice welcome because I have never fished Druridge Bay or targeted Turbot.

ive never fished it or heard of anyone,i think the flatties might be more spring summer???anyway the area around holy island is filled with flatties as its miles of sand beds just plaice though. A turbot would be some catch!Good luck

the south end of the beach there is a skeer, the beach is pulled into a point as the tide pulls back here and after a SE sea the gully opens up, a short cast at low water puts you in the gully, real short casts can produce fish sometime, 2 strikes befor and my mate had a 3lb bass at his feet with no need for further reeling.

dont na abut ther mate but a herard ther gettin plenty of cod at alnmouth

i live local and fish that beach all the time, no cod they have buggerd off but plenty flatties and whiting down at the old pipe south end of beach 30 50 yards all u need and plenty ov rag nd mussel gud luk

i have seen turbot around that area before, but they seem to be more prolific around walkwarth beach for some reason, or they were back in the day when i hunted around that area a few times, never seen any massive ones there.
i am sure they are a summer fish??

i have also seen a ray come in from the beach at duridge. the last time i fished there, this was a while back. there used to be a big sandbar that you could get onto during a big tide, best time to fish would be night time, follow the tide down, fish in front of the sand bar until you can get onto the bar, then chuck as far as possible, fish the flood until you need to get off and then chuck just in front of the sandbar as the tide floods hard, used to get plenty of cod and flattys there.
normal baits work well, lug, rag, squid, crab, mackerel, razzor, clam etc.

we used to drive through cresswell, past the ice cream shop heading north, you will see a few houses to your left next to cresswell cars, dont turn left next to them, just keep driving, you will be on a long bumpy road with a few farms on your left and the dunes on your right. keep driving until you come to a sharp bend that veers left,go straight over at this point and park the car in the area there, its a dirt track and a local dogging spot! lol so if you dont get any fish, you could be lucky in other respects
park the car up just after the main road and head over the dunes to the beach on your right. the hole used to move a bit with the seas but was normally always in that area. best to check it out during the day over low water so you have an idea for the night time.
normally a good mark this time of year.
