After Advice

Fishing up the West coast in November, taking a rib with a 5hp engine.
There's 3 of us I'm mainly only interested in fishing from the shores.
I was thinking Loch Ryan but not sure where is suitable, Needing shore location near a beach or a cove where we can launch a rib. Prefer a not so high rock location for my shore fishing into deep or heavy ground. after a early cod or pollock etc. Ive also looked at Kircudbright area but only on google maps. you guys give me any sound advice on said areas for both types of fishing. oh we are Camping in the area too. pref near our rods

You could launch a rib in Brighouse Bay mate, theres a ramp at the caravan/camping site. Plenty of rock fishing too but I hear its not too good at this time of year. I only fish it in the summer when its full of LSD and the usual summer species. Might be worth asking some of the locals on WSF.

Been very poor all year around kirkudbright area
Very hit & miss

Worth a trip to Stranraer & fish cairnryan
Canny caravan site just past the golf course with a concrete launching ramp close by, heading straight across loch Ryan almost opposite the launch ramp you can throw a grapnel hook to the wooden pier & anchor up for a spot of night fishing for conger
It doesn't get fished often now & I know has gave some conger this year in the 40lb range.
If you head out toward the open sea & on right hand side close to the mouth there's a lot of double figure pollock
But be carefull as the bottom is jagged but the bigger fish are in the shallow water & go wild for orange flying condoms! Had
8 fish over 10lb back in July from there
Fishes best with a bit of a ripple on the water
Then lady bay on the left side gives some good bullhead & hounds
& had some cracking red gurnard on fresh muscle

& the campsite pub does a canny pint

When it comes to fishing tips pls go on and on. It's gonna be Winter 7th of November so a little chance its not too cold lol
Cod, Pollock is on the list but not expecting anything else :-) Thanks very much my friend

Never seen a cod caught anywhere round that area
Had them at brighouse bay so there's got to be some there,
But I think everyone targets other species
