:(after her first day at sea dealing with up to 17oz weights, ruby was looking forward to more of the same but with some fish involved today,on North Star.

sadly one mistimed click of a door saw her standing 3 inches shorter, snapped off in her prime.a new eye and a new life as a macarel rod on warlord lies ahead for ruby:):)

ruby 2 will be here the morrow night

any how fishing wise, doon to boat coffee waiting, along with an intro to North Stars new crewman GLENN,seems a canny lad, time will tell:)

a welcome appearance of unersize whiting and bootlace ling broke the boredom today.

a surprise visitor was a gurnard:)

a pleasant day although got a bit lumpy early afternoon:(

water not bad a few miles off bait the usual suspects rag, squid mackarel prawn rippers flowing traces daylite hokki the noos:)

Had a tear in my eye there Dunc, such a sad story....:(...but you still make a good pair....Dodgy Hip uses Dodgy Tip...:D;)

Great report as usual though mate...:)

As Kenny Rogers once sang:

She's leaving now cause
I just heard the slamming of the door
The way I know I've heard it
Some 100 times before
And if I could move I'd get my gun
And put her in the ground
Oh Ruby
Don't take your love to town
Oh Ruby for God's sake turn around

Strangely apt! :)

Shame about the rod Duncan but hopefully you will get some use out of Ruby 2 on Thursday if the forecast stays the same their is a couple of people interested in going but even if their is only a couple we can have a look out you never know it might be Ruby 2 lucky day.

It was my rod that snapped. I don't want to discuss it on a forum before I've had a word with the shop, wouldn't be fair.
Bring it in mate we will sort it out, every company will have breakages you always get the odd rogue rod and that includes century.zippy's,greys etc, its how the company responds that's important ..
