Reet - here's a starter for ten...

I want an all round rod, 12ft+ that would suit rocks and the beach, it must also suit fixed spool/multiplier dual usage

And.........be around the £100 mark (give or take;) )

Any ideas?

Cheers in advance for any help/info etc ;) :D

you are best of getting a second hand rod mate for your cash, billy has a few in shield for that price and they are good ones he also has a mark one apollo for a hundred but its the 14 footer but all the same they are the muts nuts:D as for dual use the ring spacings are different for fixed spool and multipler usage, just get a rod rung for multipler and it will cope with a fixed spool too.:)

Sound advice that mate cheers...:D

Also heard rave reviews about the Ron Thompson aXellerator which can be bought from new for about £100...anyone else on here got good things to say about them?

they are okay i have been told, but why buy a new rod for a 100 when you can get a second hand one for a 100 that was 160 quid or more when new and if you want shot you will still get a 100 for it but your ron tompson will be worth half what you paid for it,lol thats just my opinion mate;)

I've got an axellerator Tony, you can have a try next we are out.

Also got a Penn Ruff Stuff which I find is easier to cast with.

I've got 2 ron thompson accellerators mate so you can borrow one to try out. You need a decent multiplier to go with them tho. Slosh 30 will do it £70 new. You might not find a new accellerator now tho as i was told they had stopped making them. Don't know if it's true tho. I think they are great for the money and would defo reccomend them.

i agree the rods is worth the money ,i the same was told these rod was stopped being made ,i reckon if they have and they do decide to make them again they will retail for more than the price they are at now ,i call it my broomshank rod lift out it will
