I really like using herring Willy. There\'s been times when Mackrel hasn\'t been doing it and herring has outfished it by a mile. It\'s got a more pungent smell than mackrel and a lighter colour skin (maybe that\'s what does it?? I got it one day as there was no mackrel and I\'d heard of it being used. Can\'t fault it to be honest.

ninga what they forgot to say that the mackeral wasnt fresh but frozen and heavily salted I believe originates in Ireland . I still have some available if you want some I\'ll peel it off the bottom of my shoe
