Had a try for macky last night, birds feeding all over catching small sandeels, and couldn't catch one. Water still dirty here close in so had a try for a cod with the same result. Last resort try over the kelpy gulleys for a Pollack towing a redgill, at last got a couple and got the last one with jelly eel, thought I was gonna lose it when it headed for pot ropes but turned it round. Choppy night round the island with wind against tide but worth it in the end with 4 Pollack to keep and the same going back. Surely the macky will hit this week, freezers on empty.
Sorry about mobile phone pic quality and no "action" shots as fishing solo.

Just been out on boat at Beadnell today and there are loads of mackerel up there. We had 2 fish boxes full in just over an hour and weighed a couple at over 3lb!!! Huge fish, biggest I have seen. Few cod aswell when you got past the mackerel.
