So this is my first post and it's a good one!
I had a 15 year brake from sea fishing but at the start of winter I set my self the goal of catching a cod. On the second session at Seahouses harbour I caught a 1.5lb cod and straight away moved the goal posts to wanting to catch a big cod!
I have been to lots of different marks up the coast having success at Beadnell, Duntanbourgh castle and Craster.
Tonight I was working near Amble so thought I would give the pier a try and was shocked to find a canny sea on at 4 when I got their. I fished for a couple of hours in the river side with nowt so thought al have one cast into the sea side and then go. I pulled a 1.5ib cod out so re-baited for one more last cast.
After 5 mins in the water the rod tip went bang and bent over. Took a canny effort to get it to the side and had to hand ball it up.
A 6lb cod was my prise which in my eyes has fulfilled my goal of a big cod....
So what next?
