Amble Tuesday Fishing

Went down to pump out the boat today and had a spin out past the harbour mouth. A couple of boats had been out fishing, taking advantage of a lull in the winds. Both boats I spoke to had nothing, not even a bite. The water looked quite clean after the winds and rain, I was expecting it to be s***e brown after the bit rain and winds.

Always another day !

A mixture of emotions here , one side of me is pleased that I'm not missing much whilst stuck indoors recovering from a hernia operation , the other half a bit sad knowing that even if I could get out the chances of catching seem slim, once I'm healed and the sea is flat I'll be giving it a go though :D

Nice that you made it out thou, the last time i fished in December i landed 2 pouting in 5 hours so not much better lol, thou fish are out there.

On the home straight now, lighter nights every day and only 15 weeks to go for me

As my old mate says (bob handyside) there will not be a cod till the snows clears from the hills (Cheviots) and he was right :D:D

On the other hand

On the other hand

Forgot to mention after finishing up at the marina I had a walk along the harbour and spoke to one of the commercial skippers. They are still throwing away loads of over quota Cod and Haddock whilst fishing for prawns. The fish are there but a bit farther out than my slow boat or nerve will take me.
