Watch out for paraffin on ya fingers the catch rate will be reduced:);)

The problem with paraffin lamps is trying to get them on before the tube that carries the paraffin to the mantle is not hot enough thus pure paraffin and not gas:);)

Soon rust tho, give e'm a spray with wd after use, helps to keep them right;)
Had them yrs ago, seriously bright mind, just keep them well pumped up,use to keep the old pressure gauge well up,right into the red,can still hear the hissing now:eek::D

There a lot brighter than the coleman, think supposed to be 500cp,like I say tho big corrosion problem, just need a lot of tlc:)
Get them hung up on a lamp stand around 5/6ft in the air, lights the beach up bigtime, never mind cree's burning your retina's out:p:D

The colmans are nice and easy though pump and ignite nee mess;)

What a blast from the past! Me and my mate regularly trudged along the blast with one each when Dawdon pit was there. We gave up trying to use the igniter to light it, we just used meths and the bowl method. We used to warm pasties wrapped in tinfoil on the top of them :D.

They both got bashed about big style and rarely ever failed us.

I remeber lighting mine I got given brand new unused" I pumped it up then lit the wick in the meths bath then pressed the blowtorch built into it, and nearly crapped my pants flames everywhere it finally lite then blew over on my rod stand at Whitburn steel haha. Still got it in shed broken glass and a bag of rust now but it was much brighter than the tilly.
