What’s the challenge casting the larger volume of plastic Norman?

Hi Kev,
Takes longer to cool being bigger and also shrinks more pulling the spru back into the mould a little. It causes a few airlocks, that can be sorted with vents but in general more difficult to get a good full shot.
Since it takes longer to cool we have to leave it in the mould longer which in turn heats the mould more which in turn causes the next one to take even longer to cool ........ never ending circle
ok to make but not very good in a production mode

Ah, that makes sense. I’m sure given a week or two you could build a water cooling system in your moulds with only a drinking straw and spare syringe.

It could almost be tempting to make a few distant relatives of SK Shad.

at the moment the cooling system is the freezer in the corner of the garage ........ but I do have a water supply !!!
