Another weekend Ohhhh Boy

Just come home from sea front, noon, and the sea is rolling in from the north, and with Saturdays forecast not much better than light-ish north easterly's, it's going to be a bumpy ride for anyone venturing out, especially over the Tyne bar.:(:(
Just checked the fore cast for the rest of the week, and it's easterly from now on in. Looks like the shore rod will get an airing, and the outboard a winterizing.
Hell, it's a long 6 months till March, and with the shore fishing usually crap after Christmas, am gonna be boarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd:( Was thinking maybe up tiding for cod, but we don't get the run of fish like they do, or used to on the Fylde coast, so probably wouldn't be worth the effort. God, it's a short season here.
Sorry to be all doom and gloom but, if any one has any suggestions how to fill in the dark days, let's have them.:D

arthur

you should get yourself a second hobby...

i have and it really takes the dissapointment out of not getting out...:D

Yes Geoff, the latest forecast now says light winds, so hope the swell is minimal tomorrow, or it could be a long day. Hope you do well.

Aye Lads good luck if your out tomorrow, I'm having a rest and recouperation weekend.
Unfortunately I think arthurs pretty much got it spot on in the initial post in this thread ... the past few seasons we have put our rods away with a smile on the face quoting "roll on next season, it's been a good un" .... but this time those words just don't seem to ring true.
Still ..... we have good and we have bad, that way at least it's never boring or predictable, the previous 2or 3 seasons have been the best I've ever experienced so it had to have a dip somewhere..... not be long until it's spring again :) ........
all the best lads and lasses

aye norman, its just about time to bring the curtain down, wash off the grease paint, put the tools away, get the other tools out and start on next years fishing platform:exclam:

Two more weekends and 2 more mid week trips then thats me done for what has been the worst season in my boat fishing life. Still always next year only 7 months away for me :)

At Craster couple of days ago i nearly threw up we were really rockin and rollin. Managed to hold it in and it dropped off by noon. Mind the fishing was very poor. Still Norway to look forwards to next feb/march.
Mick.

I’ve not written-off tomorrow’s boat fishing yet. The sea was choppy with little swell so it should calm quickly once the wind drops. You’re all right about the poor season though, even when we get out, we haven’t brought much back this year.
My back-up plan was a day fishing on the river, but that was over 7 feet in flood today. Tomorrow, is a new day, let’s see what it brings.
