hello fellas, just looked on the map to c where mill.dam is, looks lime u can get the car down too which is always a bonus to stop those little smack rats nicking ur radio, any advice on the area would be much appreciated or other areas/marks around that would be better for fishing tomoz after a bit of a sea on today?

cheers lads

hoping to get my 1st cod over 1lb tomoz

It's spit on for the car but crap for the fishing never has any thing decent from there but if see going to fish it its well lit

hmmm might stick with my original idea of roker then, was thinking about trying the cliff mark of franchmans point but cant seem to find it on the maps, nevet fished rocks or cliffs before

One of the club lads had fish at Mill Dam on monday and had a cod of 6lb on another night. To get to the mark just head for South Shields town centre. When you get to the roundabout next to Asda take the road down to the Customs House and park in the car park. I think it is still pay and display but is only a quid on a sunday.
Frenchmans is on the Leas, Park next to the traffic lights on the coast road and follow the black tarmac path across the leas until you come to the coastal path follow this path to the right and the point is the first headland you come to, it has a map and story board thing on a concrete block explaining where you are, i prefer to fish back towards the bay rather than the point itself.

thanks very much jamie, the leas is that between the pub on the round about and the pub just at the top of the short hill bout half a mile up from thr round about? can u fish frenchmans when the tides out with a poor cast?

A shortish cast is probably OK on SSP mate in the 42-44 area. 50 yards should just about clear the snags I think. Just as another option.

Yeah thats the leas, the coast road runs from the New crown roundabout all the way to sunderland. Theres a set of traffic lights about a mile from the roundabout just park there and walk over.
You can fish frenchies over low water on a poor tide but the tides are big this weekend so you wont be able to, best over high water so theres plenty of water in the bay best with a decent sea on though.
