Do any of you lads and lasses collect anything.

I have collected ciggarette lighters for a lot of years but don\'t bother with them now as much as I did. Most of them are the normal thing you can pick up in any shop but I do have a couple of very old one\'s.

Recently I started to collect playing cards. My mate acquired some from America that were given to the troops in Iraq and he gave me a set of them that have never been opened. Apparrantly there were two different sorts. One for the troops and one for the public, the one\'s he gave me were for the troops.

I got some a few years ago through the Theakston brewery that are pretty good and it got me thinking to what other people collect.

Was thinking about trying Cod but they are a bit hard to find at the minute lol.

So what do you all collect.

Jim.

Apart from fishing gear :o
I collect F1 Grand Prix memrobilia, got quite alot of books, some signed and worth alot of money,a few signed prints,photo\'s etc etc.
Got a nice collection of maps lol,bit sad but I do collect these.
We\'ve also got a nice collection of Tolkien Books, some are very rare editions etc and other bits and bobs, pre film stuff,we\'ve stopped collecting since the films were made, the films were excellent,my wife did\'nt like them btw because she believes they should never have been made into films and you should use your own imagination.

jim next time your over this way remind me to dig round the loft before you come ,got a box full of lighters up there somewhere

Fossils and anything archeological.

Apart from the fossils, my oldest find has been bits of roman roof tile, and some medieval (13th century) pottery.

My oldest fossil is a 365 million year old plant stem, from the carboniferous period, I think.

Loads of fossils around the North SIde of the Sugar Sands, all the way up to howick burn Tony!
Fossilised croc footprints at Howick as well!

Seen the footprints, Rory.

They pre-date the dinosaurs btw.

Howick Burn is an interesting place.

If you`re lucky, you can find bits of worked flint there, at least 2000 years old.

Ancient human footprints have also been found in the shale around that area, but the sea soon washes them away once they`re uncovered.

Zippo lighters, original cigarette cards,, our lass calls me cropper, got me beat think its something to do with roy cropper???
