Any news on how Hartlepool has been fishing?

I'm sure some Pool locals can help on here - but if you can manage a drive further north the marks North of the Tyne seem to be fishing well as soon as the conditions allow. Good luck

Has been hit and miss heugh been chucking odd decent cod plenty of whitey middleton is middleton lol fish here and there ive had a couple of the staincliff and couple of lad a no have had few of headland promenad bud

Hi charile

I norm fish that way closer to home not alot being reported or what i have seen on the piers midd / pilot dont fish the Heugh now apart from summer not worth the risk now

went to sunderland at weekend pier was shut for some reason so went to glass center not alot just a few small ones

the headland or beach in between steetley and prom not a bad mark to try in bad weather

if the sea picks up as forecast it could be too heavy for the heugh. rocks inside or pilot might give odd cod and middleton loads of whiting.

if the weather is bad and the Heugh is unfishable the pilot is not bad . Not been on this year but when Heugh and midd had waves crashing into them i went to pilot and lad i was with got a nice cod from there / Last resort place if u not like the beach

Not been back on the Heugh since last season when a wave came over the end. Me and one other lad on. He lost his box and gear. Both of us lucky not to have gone in. The place is dropping to bits.
Mick.

Did I read that right Bill, 6lber from the Staincliff? Lovely fish that from there :)

Must have been a canny sea on to come over the end Mick, if its over the end the middle is usually washed over – how did you get off and over the gate! :D
It only seems like yesterday I was on with you and you got a beauty of a whiting, must have been just before you got wet

Been a while since I last used this forum but decided to log in see what's been happening.... as Mick says the Hugh is dropping to bits fishing has declined some what in recent seasons for some reason fair enough a few fish here and there but certainly in no big numbers I fished the Hugh after the last lot of eastlys was very slow and hard going 3fish upto 5lb in an 8 hour session and that was it even the whiting where very scarce

Bloke who i was talking to at Roker on Friday said "The steps" no idea where these are myself has been fishing good

steps are further north round past the cannon corner and a canny way along the prom you can park ya car on road beside them two sets of steps go opposite ways down to the beach called the twin steps mate:)
